How to Remove Crayon Stains from Whites & Colours

Removing crayon stains from whites & colours

1. Scrape

Scrape away as much of the wax with a dull knife.

2. Brown Bag

Cut open a brown paper bag (such as a brown paper grocery bag). Ensure the bag does not have a wax coating on it. Please the bag over the wax spot, gently press with a dry iron on its lowest setting. Dark brown marks should appear on the bag as the wax lifts off the clothing. Repeat with clean areas of the brown bag until all the wax has lifted off.

3. Pre-treat

For whites: pre-treat with 10ml of Albex™ Bleach into 1 litre of water, spot treat stain with this solution. Leave for 5 minutes.

For colours: Spray Albex™ Nostain Pre-wash Stain Remover Spray directly onto the stain. Leave for 5 – 10 minutes. Do not let the item dry.

4. Wash

Wash in the hottest water recommended by the care label using detergent.

5. Add

For whites add 1 cup of Albex™ Bleach to the detergent.

6. Check

After the wash, check to make sure the stain is gone. If the stain is still present, repeat the process.

Pro Tip: Test Bleachability of item before applying bleach. Find out how here.
