How to Remove Hair Dye Stains from Whites

Removing hair dye from whites

1. Test

Do a bleachability test (3 tsp. Albex™ Bleach to ¼ cup water and apply a drop of this solution to a less visible part of the garment area like inside seam, hemline or cuff. Wait minute and then blot dry. No colour change means you can safely bleach.

2. Pre-soak

For large stains on white clothing or fabrics, pre-soak the entire item in a solution of ½ cup of Albex™ Bleach into 5 Litres of water. Submerge the garment for 5 minutes.


3. Wash

Wash immediately in the hottest water recommended by the care label using detergent and 1 cup of Albex™ Bleach.

4. Check

After the wash, check to make sure the stain is gone. If the stain is still present, repeat the process.
